A Modern and Brighter Touch for This Laguna Kitchen
We have remodeled a lot of kitchens over the years and one thing that is always true is that no two kitchens are the same, unless they are apartments. This Laguna Kitchen also included a washer and dryer in the side corner, presenting us with the chance to get creative.
This particular kitchen was in good shape, but it was severely outdated, compared to the rest of the home. The owners wanted the old antique wood look gone and a more modern look in. Since the kitchen was not that big in size we decided to go with a lighter look to brighten up and expand the room a little more. We painted the walls a light grey and the cabinets/countertops white, for an accent.
We replaced all of the countertops, cabinets, and appliances completely, besides the washer and dryer. The owners wanted the cabinets above the washer and dryer gone and more counter space. We removed the unwanted cabinets and created more counter space by the stove and washer. As you can see in the second picture we relocated the door a couple feet to the right in order to create more countertop space by the range.
At the end of the project, the owners of the home were happy with their new Irvine Kitchen and its new modern look. They were also very surprised at how the lighter paint opened up the kitchen a lot more and created more light without having to spend more on new fixtures.
